inHealth is a clinically proven lifestyle therapeutics company for high-risk, hard to treat patients. We deliver reimbursable 1:1 coaching via video on any HIPAA compliant platform.
Founders Michelle Alencar and Aubrey Jenkins worked in a brick-and-mortar obesity medicine clinic, but knew they could reach more patients more conveniently by moving online.
They created our remote coaching solution, tested the outcomes in clinical trials, and created inHealth. Alencar serves as Chief Science Officer and continues to be a professor at Cal State University Long Beach and Jenkins is CEO.
inHealth coaches, following proprietary medical decision-making protocols, deliver clinically proven improvements in diabetes and obesity. In our most recent clinical trial, patients showed a 47% improvement in HOMA-IR score and 7.7% weight loss.
inHealth provides a unified patient care experience that leads to improved outcomes. Using smart devices we can monitor patient weight and glucose levels, coach the patient toward better self-management, and then provide remote patient monitoring to continue to help patients improve.
Our solution includes a CDC recognized DPP and many of our coaches are licensed professional RNs or RDs. All coaches have a degree in a health field and an additional certification in coaching. They then receive 75 hours of training on our inHealth protocols and inHealth’s 7 Pillars of health coaching. The program is based on motivational interviewing and co-active coaching methods.
We’re a trusted white label partner of a large Blue Cross Blue Shield, medical device manufacturers, and self-insured employers both private and public. Private practice doctors refer patients to us who need support to make the lifestyle changes necessary to slow or reverse chronic disease knowing our care is reimbursed through Medicare and private insurance.
